Paige Stines

Paige Stines

On July 3, 2016, Paige woke up not herself. She was short of breath and swollen throughout her entire body, they thought she was having an allergic reaction. On July 12th the team at CHOP were able to confirm Paige has Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's Lymohoblastic Lymphoma. This cancer requires 2.5 years of chemotherapy, some outpatient, some inpatient and some at home. The first 6-8 months of chemotherapy will be very intense. This will be a long, eventful journey, especially for Paige, making it difficult for us on many levels. We can assure you that we will perservere and Paige will make it out stronger then ever!

White Horse Fire Company hosted the 1st Annual #teampaige Community Blood Drive. So far we have collected 77 donations. There is another drive on January 17th at Robinson Elementary School. To read more about Paige’s Journey visit this website and Go Fund Me. #teampaige. Keep the prayers coming!

Victoria Palko

Victoria Palko

Three years ago, Victoria Palko was found unresponsive and spent months fighting for her life due to complications from pneumonia. During her hospitalization, she used over 100 blood products, which helped to save her life. Through the selflessness of blood donation, she’s completely healthy now and recently graduated from the University of Delaware. Victoria wants to pay it forward in appreciation of those donors whose blood she desperately needed. Please help the Palko family celebrate her continued good health by donating; for every unit donated, 3 lives can be saved. This is the 4th year of her blood drive and, so far, we’ve collected enough blood to help save over 500 lives!

At age 44 I had a double hip replacement and quickly understood how important the need for blood is. I am an account manager with The Community Blood Council of NJ and see people donating everyday but I feel until it happens to yourself or a family member you never really understand. At the time of my surgery, my son was 2 years old. My surgery was complex and I ended up needing 3 transfusions. I am grateful for the selflessness of donors. I am alive, active once again and able to keep up with my soon to be 7 year old!
